Dodge caravan 2006 the van starts fine and drives fine. after the van is started and your driving for 2 to 3 min and your cruzing along at 20 to 25 mph the van will all of a sudden start to surge then bog its self down when the throttle is only about 17% depressed and then it will all of a sudden return to its constent speed and rpms with out lifting off the throttle. Now it will do this 7 or 8 times and sometimes it gets so bad and boggs its self down that you lift off the throttle and reappply then it will pick up speed and return to standard rpm and speed ,heres the kicker you stop at a light and while waiting it will start to bog and if you dont double foot it and apply the throttle it will die ,the other way to make it not die is to put it in neutral and it will return to 800rpms and when light turns green you put it back into drive and go. It does all this with out setting off the check engine light. There has been a time it set off the light and it was not a hard code it said it was a 0321 high voltage in the first port location pin 1?

Have you ever had the mechanical lift pump go out on these vehicles? If the fuel pressure drops under 5psi on the VP44 injection pump for any length of time, the diaphrams get weakened and especailly when the warmer seasons come back, you will notice fuel delivery problems. A new/rebuilt pressure pump is required! Sorry for the bad news, if indeed this is the case. One solution/prevention is to replace the lift pump with the upgraded Mopar (goes into the tank now) or an aftermarket pump like the FASS pump or the like. Anyone that has the VP44 injection pump should upgrade ASAP! This is a common problem on the OEM mechanical lift pump on this particular run of Rams. Need to do it before you run up a costly repair bill later on down the road. The stock/OEM lift pumps WILL go out, sometimes as little as 12k miles, sometimes 50k miles.....I had 3 go out, Stock at 43k, Mopar replacement lasted 31k and the 3rd (aftermarket OEM) lasted 14k. I had a fuel pressure guage installed a very long time ago to alert me of failures. The 4th go around I installed the FASS and now it maintains 21 to 27psi even with chip mods switched to extreme! I am still on original VP44 pump (knock on wood!)
Good Luck!

SOURCE: 1999 Dodge Intrepid Dies while driving and sometimes won't start

I could very well be the TPS throttle position sensor acting up. I had a very similar situation on a 99 Concorde with the same engine in it in my shop today. Go to a shop that is able to do a data stream on the engine. What it is, is they hook up a scanner and have the ability to watch all the sensors as the car starts/runs.

I cannot see how adding a fuel additive would help to be honest. I would be looking for a split or leaking vacuum line, I have even seen a leaking evap canister before that caused a similar problem. Does the engine pull clean and strong when it is warm or at cruising speeds? Does it feel like its running lean or misfiring?

95 dodge caravan transmission will shift when cold but once van gets warm after about 30 mins of driving, wont gear down, just stays in low gear... do i need a new transmission?

It could be a solenoid in the transmission, or the pump, or something in the valve body. You will probably need a shop have a look at it.
I would get a couple of estimates from different shops.

1 clean throttle body and IAC motor air pathways.
2. Check for engine codes, you are looking for a code that relatws to the wngine temperature sensor.

Have you put a pressure gauge on and then drive to see if pressure drops. If it does it is likely the pump. Sometimes these problems lead to it being the computer.
