Auto trans is a fixed mount, any adjustment would be done at the shift linkage.
Manual trans switch appears that it can be moved in or out somewhat as it is threaded, probably has a locknut holding it at the correct position once adjusted. If no locknut, then it appears to be a fixed switch.
if its look the same then it will work ,dont worry about gear ratios and all the technical stuff so long as the electronic stuff lines up away you go and it dont fit then make it fit
Change filter in transmition and check for band pices or trash. If you do, put 1/2 new and 1/2 old trans fluid back in. Then check speed sensor to see if it is OK. I have 1996 F150 300six with E40D trans. I have 267000 mills on my truck.
A donor truck is a good idea, but the transmission, bell housing, cross members and transmission mounts will all be the same as long as you dont go from manual to auto or opposite. motor mounts will be different tho. i put a manual trans off of a 94 F-150 with a 300 6-cyl into my 91 bronco with a 351 V8 (5.8L) and used all the mounts and crossmembers off of the 94. only thing is the petal assm was different due to body changes. and the 5.8L also has a 11" clutch **** and the 5.0L and 4.9L both use a 10" disk. the bad thing is you will have a ton of stuff to change like the ECU, and engine harness and and other then the Ypipe and converters the exhaust will work. such a project is not for the faint of heart.
It should work for you as long as there both 4L60E transmission, but take not there were a few changes to the transmission case and everything internal are the same. The key distinction of the Later 4L60-E (1997-2006) from the Early 4L60-E (1992-1997) or 4L60 (1990-1992) or 700R4 (1982-1989) is the six-bolt "hex" rear output or tailhousing / adapter pattern. The previous versions featured a four-bolt square bolt pattern at the adapter or tailhousing. Additionally, the removeable bellhousing is also another distinguishing feature. The Late 4L60-E transmission has a three piece case of cast aluminum alloy; bellhousing, main case, and tailhousing. GM shortened the package to 21.9" long - equivalent to a manual transmission of 15.4". Good luck and you should not have any problems swapping out the transmission.
no you will need to change the exhaust, engine mounts, transmission mounts, tail shaft, trans cross member, wiring loom and computer if not more stuff i am shore it can be done but the expense will be huge
