My advice is go to auto supply house buy a repair manual (I would ask the clerk which repair manual they recommend) and check for other issues i.e. distributor (there is a shaft directly driven from the distributor to the oil pump that is notorious for breaking and causing issues with the oil pump on this motor) and other things that can cause problems with the oil pump on the crown vic before you get into removing and replacing oil pump conduct a through investigation with the assistance of the repair manual that you choose, they range from 30.00 to about 50.00. I really hope that my advice helps you and if you feel at all uncomfortable preforming the mechanics yourself after research please find a mechanic.
