Never saw a GC of that year with a level sensor. If you did have one it would be located on either side of the oil pan (not the block).

locate oil drain plug on oil pan,engine off. take out oil plug with wrench, drain oil into a big pan or similar. when oil is drained remove oil filter and put new one on, put some new oil on filter seal with finger then screw on to car as tight as you can get it by hand. do not use a fiter wrench to tighten filter only hand tight. use oil filter wrench to take off old oil filter. when filter is on put plug back in oil pan and tighten. then add your new oil to reccomended oil level.

There is most likely a cross member in the way of the pan dropping down. Remove the cross member, 4 bolts, and the pan should drop once you have removed all the screws. You will need a seal cutter or a putty knife of some type to break the seal lose as Nissan uses a liquid gasket sealer when the engine is assembled.

clean off entire area near where you suspect the leak is coming from, then look carefully to locate it. Try slightly tightening any bolts near the leak area after it's located If at the pan gasket do not overtighten or you will crush the gasket and it will leak more.
