How do you adjust the clutch on a 1993 318IS BMW? When I try to start the car, even with the clutch all the way down, the car wants to go, so the clutch is not really having any effect.

Most likely it is a hydraulic clutch, hence not adjustable.
Most likely it needs a new clutch, it is 17 years old.
There could be an inspection access where an experienced BMW person could tell you if
your clutch plate surface is gone or if there is another failure.

Can you adjust the clutch on the 1994 bmw is?

The clutch should be hydraulic, so it is not adjustable. Failure of the slave cylinder is common on a car this old.

I just bought a 1997 BMW Z3 1.9 engine 5 speed, It is very hard to shift into all gears, if I push it all the way to the floor hard it gets easier but still sort of hard, is there a adjustment for the...

you have a bought a car with a worn out clutch end of story ,so take gearbox out and then take old clutch in hand to auto factor so you get the right clutch first time then fit it and you will have a nice car ,the clutch is hard to push down because the diaphramn spring in the pressure plate is working overtime because the clutch disk is worn to excess .not too difficult on this rear wheel drive car though just dirty work

Have 2001 530d bmw. when i turn key nothing happens, not even will turn engine over. battery good all electrics and lights working ok, need help please, suggestions to what is the problem

Start with the safety interlock. If you have an automatic transmission, put your foot on the brake and shift thru the gears while holding the key to start. If the engine cranks, adjust or replace the safety interlock switch.
If you have a standard transmission, remove the cable from the switch above the clutch pedal and connect the terminals in the connector with a paper clip, then push in clutch and try to start. If that works, replace the switch.

If the problem is not the interlock, please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

you have 2 choices either the clutch is not disengageing properly or the gearbox is shot.put the car in first, put the clutch pedal down, then start the car and if its trying to pull away before you take you foot of the clutch you have you answer....if its the clutch cable you can adjust it..

Bmw 2002 330 standard shift change gear the

Adjust the clutch.

If this is a hydraulically operated clutch, ensure there is sufficient operating fluid in the master cylinder.

If that is ineffective, replace the clutch.

DON'T THINK CLUTCH CAN BE ADJUSTED ON THESE I WOULD THINK REPLACING CLUTCH ON THESE ARE BETWEEN £300-£400 AT A GARAGE.

Price of installing new clutch in 1998 BMW 328i

Hello

These cars have auto adjustment, so if it's slipping it means a new one is needed. A new one can be between £200 to £450 depending on where you go and if you use original or replacement parts.
