My 1996 Town & Country Chrysler has a front end shimmy that starts at 40 mph gets worse and then disappears about 50 mph. Had the front tires balanced with no change. The shimmy goes away if I get off the gas. It ONLY happens when the car is under power and accelerating. Just had new bushings and links replaced. No change. vehicle has 110,000 miles and new tires.

SOURCE: changing fuel filter on 2004 chrysler town and country

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

SOURCE: low speed fan relay for the 2005 chrysler town and country

If you are talking about the cooling fan relay for the radiator there is no low speed and high speed relay. There is only one relay and it is behind the grill revitted to the bumper rail. It is doesnt look like you typical relay.

SOURCE: Shimmy on front when accelerating of my 2006 pt cruiser

Check the control arm bushings, they are common to wear out and have known some cases where they needed to be changed at 20,000KM, mine. Must of been a bad supply that year, other then that check the common things like the idler arm, tie rod ends and engine mounts.
Not sure how many miles on your PT but I found some seam to be built better then others. I had a PT turbo and it was in the shop more times then the good driving weather here in Canada.
Good luck and hope this helps and I hope it's not the transmission slipping from 1st to 2nd if it's an auto.

2005 chrysler town and country starts shaking at 40 45 mph comes and goes bought new tires and alignment

Tires are balanced to a certain speed. Not all tires are created the same, They all have a speed rating. Check with where you got them balanced and see what the speed they are balanced to is.

Start with a tire inspection, then have them balanced and rotated.

You could have worn tie rod ends as well. Most places provide a free front end inspections, but make them show you if parts are loose. If they won't show you go somewhere else.

Front End Shimmy - not a brake problem (rotors)

Time for a front end check, like idler arms, steering links etc for too much play.

1995 jeep wrangler shimmy's

not a big problem. It may be tie rod wearing. If you hear a click when turning it would be the ball joints. If it does not make clicking sound, then most likely tie rod ends or improper alignment
