Codes don't tell you what to fix
They indicate possible emission system failures
You use the codes, to go to an area and diagnose from there,to find cause of codes being set
You can not work on todays vehicles, if you don't know their systems, and have reference materials and wiring diagrams

This is a chat room
We have no prices for any thing

That is what repair shops are for or a dealer if you have money to throw away

P1448 and P0455: EVAP air leaks - Maxima Forums"Here\'s your answer:

The EVAP codes you are getting are directly related to your

\'vent control valve\'. This is VERY COMMON on this generation

Maxima. Up under yer car behind the left rear wheel is your

EVAP canister. (black plastic box) Your vent control valveis

bolted directly to this canister, with 2 screws. There should

be a vacuum line connected to it. Be sure it IS, and that it

looks like it\'s in good condition.

These valves are notorious for going bad, even more

so than the ignition coilpacks! They dont cause any

decrease in performance, but it usually decreases gas mileage,

and it will cause it to fail emissions testing. But worst of all, it

makes that MIL light on the dash flash...

It\'ll cost ya about $60 from the dealer.. have yer VIN ready..

there are 2 different ones for this generation: 1 with a nipple

and o-ring, the other with no nipple (requires separate o-ring).

Part #\'s: 14935-54u04 OR 14935-54u06

P0440 engine stopped

That code is an emissions cannister leak and is not related to the engine failure. IT is most likely the crank shaft sensor that is bad.

I fail to see why you tried to ruin the motor
& may have succeeded

Drive 60 miles AFTER it overheats
Then drive 3 weeks without wondering about
the overheating issue

Someone should take the car away from you

Stupid & then tell the whole world on the internet

Have 95 Nissan Maxima that stalls at stop lights and when slowing down. Have seen several solutions to problem: Mass Air Flow, idle Air flow valve, crack in intake boot and engine coolant temp sensor. How...

unfortunately in your mode maxima nissan had quite a few issues because of beeing the first model of A32 body style from the older J30 model maxima. from what i have seen in the past it could be anything from bad harness, to flodded ECM/computer because of water entering into vehicle because of faulty cowling on top of windshield, to bad ground between trans and engine housing. if the check engine light is on, you need to scan for codes to get started. if no check engine light is on that that makes it alot harder to diagniose. if no check engine light is on, i would look at the top of the computer bracket to see if its rusted up, that coilud be sign of water coming in and flodding computer causing running issues/drivability porblems.

Sevice engine light is on.

Both Codes show an Emission Controls problem - very likely a large leak. Give it a really good visual and look/listen for a vacuum leak or hose off in the emmission system.
