I have no power to the fuel pump. Replaced the pump, checked fuses, and swapped relay switches still no power.

1. Check the fuel pump fuse: Locate your vehicle's fuse box (usually found under the dashboard or in the engine compartment) and check the fuel pump fuse. If it is blown, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage. If the fuse is fine, proceed to the next step.

2. Check the fuel pump relay: The relay controls the power supply to the fuel pump. You can typically find the fuel pump relay in the fuse box or a separate relay box. To test the relay, you can swap it with an identical relay (such as the horn relay) and see if the fuel pump starts working. If it does, the relay is the problem and needs to be replaced.

3. Inspect the wiring: Damaged or corroded wiring can cause a loss of power to the fuel pump. Check the wiring leading to the fuel pump for any visible damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged wires and clean corroded connections.

4. Test the fuel pump for proper function: If you have access to a multimeter or test light, you can test the fuel pump terminals for power when the ignition is turned on. You should see a voltage for a few seconds as the pump primes. If there's no power at the terminals, the problem could be a faulty ignition switch, fuel pump control module, or a wiring issue.

5. Faulty fuel pump: If all the above steps show that power is reaching the fuel pump, but it is still not working, the pump itself might be faulty and need replacement.

Fuel shut off switch may need to be reset. A friend of mine had it trip when he had a flat tire some years ago on ford car. The reset on his was behind the plastic piece to the right of where the video below. Video below shows fuel shut off/inertia switch on upper floorboard passenger side.

You can try swapping out your fuel pump relay to make sure the relay is not bad. Below link may help

You may have a defective ignition starter switch, it is common in this year. When the switches go bad you loose power to the fuel pump circuit that power the relay.

Hello, There is a fuel pump Relay in the Powerbox under the hood. The system works this way. When you turn on the Ignition switch, it trips the Fuel pump Relay. The power is routed to the fuse from the Relay and then to the Inertia (safety) cutoff switch. Finally the power reaches the Fuel pump.

You need to test the fuse holder for power before it flows through the fuse. You should have the Ignition on, in order for the Fuel pump Relay to provide power to the fuse. Although the fuse may be good, it can not work without power.

On most Models, the horn Relay is the same part as the Relay on the Fuel pump. Just check your part numbers and swap out the two parts and see if it helps.

If the fuse is good can you hear (and feel) the main fuel relay clicking when the ignition key is cycled on and off? There may be another relay that is the same on the board, if so swap it over temporarily. If relay is working, is there power at the connection to the pump. If not then the wiring is broken. If there is then the pump needs to be replaced

No, Chrysler does not use an inertia fuel shutoff switch like ford. There is nothing resettable or anything like that with the fuel system. You can disable it by pulling the ASD relay or fuel pump relay/fuse. If you have a problem, you can check your relays and swap them around to see if that solves your issue.

Did you check the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

The fuel pump is powered :
the fuse to the fuel pump relay.
The fuel pump relay to the fuel inertia switch
The fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump itself.

At the fuel inertia switch in the kick panel, power from the relay is the Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire and the pink w/ black stripe wire is the power. from the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump.

If you jumper the fuel pump relay, you should hear it run. If not pull the fuel pump relay, and check the pins in the relay socket, pin 30 should be the power from the fuse.



If you have power at pin #30, jumper the relay socket as shown with the red line above, and check the dark green w/ yellow stripe wire at the fuel inertia switch for power.
Press the button on the top of the fuel inertia switch, and check for power leaving the fuel inertia switch on the pink w/ black stripe wire.

This is tests good, check for power at the fuel pump, same pink w/ black stripe wire.
Fuel inertia switch info is in the owners manual, If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

In the fuse box, (under the hood), lower right corner. C1051....if you think its bad, there are others like it in the fuse box you can swap with. If the fuel pump doesnt work, be sure to check the INERTIA SWITCH. I cant tell you how many fuel pumps are replaced because no one checked that switch. If the Inertia Switch is good, have someone rap on the bottom of the fuel tank while you are cranking the engine over, if it starts then, the fuel pump is bad.

It could be a few things. First thing is to check the fuel pump relay.

Power Distribution Center Located under the hood, in the engine compartment. It houses the fuses and relays for most of the under hood components which are not controlled by a dash mounted switch (such as the alternator, fuel pump, ECM, etc.). The fuses and relays are replaced in the same manner as the fuse panel inside the vehicle. The power distribution box cover is hinged on one end and utilizes a retaining latch on the other. Simply release the latch and lift the cover up to gain access to the fuses and relays.


I know this picture is small but this is your power distribution box in the engine compartment. The fuel pump relay is the second square relay from the bottom. You see the two rectangular ones and then the two square ones, the fuel pump relay is the fourth one in that row. Compare the numbers on the relay, you should be able to swap it with a new one no problem.

have you checked all fuses under the hood? have you checked the fuel pump relay? you may be able to swap the fuel pump relay with amother relay in the fuse box.are you getting power into and out of the reset switch? from there it goes to the fuel pump. if power is getting to the fuel pump and it has a good ground, the the pump is bad.
