Does the car have the 200R or the 200R4 tranny?? If so - in my opp. it is the cheapest, crappiest tranny GM ever came out with!! It is a metric tranny! You may drop the pan and check for shaveings in the bottom - if clean change filter kit. I went through 2 of these trannys in about a year - i finailly got tired of messing with it and replaced with a universail bolt patern 350 turbo tranny and it as ren top line ever since!
