All the numbers should match. By that I say that the VIN # on the car will identify the engine block # . If you have the VIN call a dealership and they will tell you the engine block # for free!
What country are you importing this vehicle ,because if its into america from europe then bewarned that a europeon market vehicle uses different software and its encrypted so a europeon vehicle will not pass the american emmisions test because the tester cannot read the OBDII .engine number is situated on the right hand side of the engine at the back of the cylinder block just above the bell housing ,well thats what it shows in the book

Inmporting from NZ to Australia, car was purchased though in UK in 2003.
Car being imported form New Zealdn to australia after being bought in the UK. I have the VIN#, thisis easily identified by a metal palte on the top of the block, but the engineer can't find the engine number which is required for registration. They must cite it for registration.
I have the original registration papers from the UK and NZ that clearly show the engine number, but we can't locate it on the car. Is it tucked into, or under the engine or somewhere else that we are missing, because it can't be even seen when elevated??
