At the moment, I'm just talking about the front passenger side window. On the hinge side of passenger door, should be wiring harness, probably has protective covering, pull the covering back to expose wire colors. Note the wire colors for battery and ground. Battery is voltage, use a test light, check both orange wires for voltage. You can use to testlight also to check ground, check both grounds. With test light connected to battery voltage, probe the ground wire, both of them, if the lite comes on, at least the ground is good enough to turn on the test light.

Before replacing these part's you have listed , did you do any electrical circuit testing ? Do you know how these thing's work ? Do you know what a serial data line is ? The door modules communicate on this data bus wire . When you push a button on the driver door switch ,to open one of the other vehicle windows or unlock a door etc.. A coded meassage is sent over the serial data bus . the window you want to open ,the module for that door knows the message is for it. messages are 1's an 0's .
Power Windows System Components
• Driver Door Module (DDM)
• Passenger Door Module (PDM)
• LH Rear Door Module (LRDM)
• RH Rear Door Module (RRDM)
• Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA)
• RH Front Power Window Switch
• LH Rear Power Window Switch
• RH Rear Power Window Switch
• LH Front Power Window Motor
• RH Front Power Window Motor
• LH Rear Power Window Motor
• RH Rear Power Window Motor
• PWR WDO 30 Amp Circuit Breaker

Power Windows Operation
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door power window can be operated, either from a switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted locally on its associated door. The driver door power window can only be operated from the switch built into the DDSA.
If the driver door module (DDM) receives a window switch request from any of the window switches built into the DDSA, the DDM checks the Class 2 serial data to see if conditions are correct (i.e. ignition switch position) to permit window operation to occur. If conditions are correct, the DDM, either supplies power and ground to its associated window motor, or sends a command via the power door serial data line to the passenger door module controlling the window. The passenger door module controlling the window then supplies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested.
When one of the local window switches mounted on one of the passenger doors is operated, the associated passenger door module examines the request and checks to see if there are any messages from the DDM prohibiting the window operation. If conditions are correct, and no prohibitive messages have been received from the DDM, the associated passenger door module then supplies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested.
Windows Power and Ground
Each door module has its own seperate battery positive voltage supply circuit for power window operation, but they are all fed by the same 30 amp power window circuit breaker located in the rear fuse block. Each door module also has a seperate ground circuit for its power window operation. These circuits are in the same dedicated connector as the window motor drive circuits of each door module.
Window Motors
Each door module supplies battery positive voltage and ground, through the window motor drive circuits, to its associated window motor. The window motors are reversible. The direction the window moves depends on which motor drive circuit the battery positive voltage is applied to, and which motor drive circuit the ground is applied to. To move the window in one direction, the module applies battery positive voltage to one of the motor drive circuits, and ground to the other motor drive circuit. When a window movement in the opposite direction is needed, the module reverses the polarity and supplies power and ground to the opposite circuits to move the window in the reverse direction.
Do you know that these door modules can also set an store DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ? And you need a Tech 2 scan tool to view them . Can set a few of them too !
DTC B1562, B1567, B1572, or B1577
DTC B1582, B1583, B1592, B1593, B1612, B1613, B1622, or B1623
DTC B3142, B3147, B3152, or B3157
DTC B3172, B3177, B3182, B3187, B3192, B3197, B3282, B3287, or B3292
DTC B3377, B3382, B3387, B3392, B3397, B3452, B3457, B3462, B3467, B3472, B3477, B3482, B3517, or B3522

SOURCE: replaced door module...replaced circuit panel

check the fuses... did you unhook the battery while you replaced the items... some people do forget that part.

failing that recheck that everything is hooked up correctly.

SOURCE: Auto windows not working on driver and passenger side front

This could be an issue with corrosion of the relay between the switch and the motor (little black box).

Sometimes the glue that holds the motor's "piston" to the window will stop working, and the "piston" will slip off the window, causing the window to stick in the down position as well. As long as your doors are apart, you might want to check that too.

For the windows to work, you may need to find a new relay, or possibly a new motor. They can burn out or have other problems in excessive heat/use/age. The GOOD news is that pretty much every salvage yard will have 4 or 5 1987-1991 Oldsmobiles sitting around, so you can steal the parts for next to nothing. Also, Buick LeSabres (also 1987-1991) are almost identical to the 88's, so you can use those for parts too!

Best of luck!

SOURCE: driver side window will not go down.. all other windows work

Check for broken wires in the pass through from the door to frt pillar. These cars have problems with broken wires all the time.

All of these body control functions are run by one central electonic module, it is called the BCM, this stands for "Body Control Module". The BCM can be tested for loss of function of the systems it controls, this is everything you have problem with, the doors the power windows the mirrors, all of it, this self test is run with a GM electronic system scanner called a "Tech 2". More than likely the BCM has failed, this would be the common problem here, but the the module can't just be replaced, the new module (if one is still available) must be programmed for your cars built in security system and other features you have must be enabled to function properly, so what does this mean? you need to have a GM dealer repair this. If there was another way i would be glad to share it with you.

Olds aurora 1999 all four power windows quit working at one time. power sunroof still works.

Then you have two possibilities. First, most likely. Wires have broken. Open the drivers door and at the front you will see a rubber boot from the frame to the door. This is where the wires like to break. Second would be the master switch failed. I have replaced one or two(in 30 years) that the switch completely died. Usually just one or two windows quit working.

2001 aurora rear door lock and window does not work

There is a door module in each door. This could be the issue and would be the next part I would try. I have also had issues with the connectors going to this module.
Note also that the switches are tied into the master switch on the drivers door. Make sure the "window lock" is not on. Although this would not effect the power door lock.

Hi Mike i have a 2001 olds aurora with both rear doors and windows out of commission. Seems like neither is getting any power the windows don't go up or down and my keyless remote will not unlock or...

There is a control module in each door with connectors. I have already had one where the wiring in the connector was bad. This takes some troubleshooting, but sometimes moving things around while trying to run the windows will should you where the loose connection is.

Doorlocks dont work except from passenger side. mirrors dont work. windows dont work from anywhere

First, check all fuses to make sure that none are blown.

If the door lock switch works on the passenger side, then the drivers side door lock switch is probably faulty. Use a multi-meter to test the Drivers Side Door Lock Switch (Black and Pink/Light Green wires unlock the vehicle, and the Black and Pink/Yellow wires lock the vehicle)
If the switch is tested and found to be operating properly, you may have a faulty Body Security Module or Drivers Side Door Lock Actuator.

If neither of your Power Mirrors are working, you probably have a faulty Exterior Rear View Mirror Switch, Power Mirror Module, or blown Central Junction Box Fuse.

If none of your Power Windows are working, you probably have a faulty Accessory Delay Relay or a blown fuse in your Central Junction Box or a faulty Master Window Adjust Switch (all of the Power Window Switches feed through this Master Window Switch). If the Power Windows didn't stop working at the same time, you may have faulty Window Adjust Switches, or faulty Power Window Motors, this is very unlikely though. It would also be a good idea to inspect the wiring for any obvious damage.
