I believe I may have a bad hose leading to the resevoir that holds the antifreeze or maybe the resevoir itself is cracked?

It could be the hose. Unless your car has ever been hit on that side, the reservoir usually outlasts the hoses.
You can easily test the hose. Unclamp it from the reservoir bottle when the coolant is not hot, plug the end with your finger and hold the hose down lower than the other end that is attached to the radiator fill neck. Look for leaks.

To check for cracks in the reservoir, it's easiest to place a flashlight inside the bottle top and look at the outside of the bottle...if liquid can get out then light can too.

prob heater core, roughly 750 to replace, whole dash needs ripped out..unless it is just a hose off at the firewall leading to the heater core or leaking radiator hose..fill the system with clean water and look for leaks, you wont have heat without enough collant in the engine to circulate under 13 psi closed system, check the resevoir for cracks and leaks mine fell apart over years good luck

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
A quart will be good. Please make sure that the fluid sits on the max level. Over filling it may lead to spilling which can cause the car to overheat.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Losing water from the resevoir no leaks or cracks visable on the resevoir water a funny colour.

water weill be a funny colour its the antifreeze in it ?? if the colour is not the same as the antifreeze then check it out because antifreeze will go a funny colour when the combustion gases from the engine mixes with it ,in other words you may have a head gasket problem

Antifreeze is leaking from area around pressurized overflow bottle.

You may have a leaking hose from the overflow bottle, or there maybe a crack in the overflow bottle itself. I've replaced a few of those because they had cracked.

Bad leak from little 2 inch L shaped hose next to lower firewall

its either the hose,or the heater core.
the core can crack where the pipes meet the core and
if you can smell antifreeze in the car and the windshield fogs,it is the core....the hose can also crack on the inside of the firewall and get misdiagnosed as a heater core.
big job,the dash has to come out

1991 Acura Legend

It might be a leak in the resevoir itself. There is a hose to allow the radiator to "****" new fluid into the radiator - check it first. It should be long enough to "freshen" the connection by cutting off a little bit and using the american style clamp.
