please try to pulldown remove first the battery connection.remove 2 bolts in the upper side and the lower part.remove starter B+,disassemble the starter check the solenoid or the carbon brush
Are you sure that the transmission is in neutral or in park? It won't start otherwise.
Check also if the cables to your battery are clean and tightly installed.
Only if you tried drag racing the car - not that you'd win with a Taurus. Dragging as you describe is usually caused by a defective battery or starter, but you've replace those. I'd now look at the condition of the primary wiring (thick red wires) from the battery to the starter and the starter relay. Also check the ground connections to the block and the chassis (thick black wires). Corroded connections can drop a lot of voltage at high current. Take'em apart, clean and polish them, squirt some wd40 (prevents corrosion) on them and put them back together. Hope this helps, if not, then maybe someone else on Fixya can help.
