fuses do not make a grinding sound. You will need to open trunk and inspect/replace trunk release

A trunk release button is not included in most Cavalliers. The cavalier came standard with electronic trunk release from the keyless entry keyring. Otherwise you need to use the key.

How do I access the trunk of my 1994 Chevy Lumina 4 door Sedan via the backseat. The yellow release button and the keylock to the trunk are both not working.

The bottom of the bench seat pushes back to unlatch from the floor then lifts out. You can then access the screws that hold the back padding on and remove those and lift the back out and get in the trunk.

My push button for trunk of 98 chevy lumina does not work anymore !

After many years of use the elecronic unlock mechanism for the trunk will sometimes break and needs to be replaced. It's a common problem.
Until it is replaced you will have to use the manual trunk release which is normally located in the boot compartment and accessible behind the fold down rear seat.

This is a failure of the "remote function actuation module". It is located under the rear deck next to the right rear speaker. The rear seat must be removed to access it along with removing the rear deck. It controls the trunk release, door locks, dome light, and reverse light. My remote trunk release stopped working along with the relase button on the dash along with the reverse lights failing at the same time. The module is over $150 so I would try to find a way to rewire the lights to work without the module.

1998 Chevy Lumina trunk reverse lights do not work nor the trunk release button. I need a diagram to show what all the fuses are and where they are located, I do not have a manual, only the pdf that does...

Make sure there is power coming to that line (switch) if no power trace back or simply ad new power line from the fuse box.

The trunk release button should be located in the glove box. mine is a yellow button and yours should be too.

Does the 97 Chevy Lumina's manual say that there is a trunk release button? I know that Cadillacs have them, but Chevy?

I looked up the part for a trunk release on autozone.com and couldn't find any. There is a key lock cylinder, but no electric or cable operated trunk release available.

So, I'm wondering if there is supposed to be one. Look in the glove compartment for a button. If not there, then I don't know where it would be if it isn't in plain sight.

Good luck on finding a trunk release button on your 1997 Chevrolet Lumina.
