Re: I have a Toyota Previa CDX 2002. The horn has...
The obvious will be to check the fuse, which I'm sure you have....
- Next, locate the relay in the fuse box, There should be a directory on or inside the box lid.
- Using a simple test lamp, remove the relay and identify the coil side and the switch side of the relay
- The switch side will have the larger terminals.
- Take a thin piece of electrical cable and strip off about five millimeters of insulation from both ends....On one side leave the wires intact and on the other use ONE strand of the wire.
- Push the multi strands of wire into the power side of the relay socket....and then using the single strand of wire.... touch and remove (less than half a second) the wire into the output side of the switch.
- If the horn sounds as I suspect it will.
- We go inside the cabin to the steering wheel.
- I believe that for this job you should take it to a shop, This part of the work can be dangerouse
- But if you'd like to carry on knowing there is danger, we can continue at your own risk, realising that the air bag may be ignited.
- Remove the fuse for the air bag.
- Reach behind the wheel and locate the fixing screw holes.
- There will be four.
- Use a machine (star screw) driver and remove the screws.
- Lift off the Air bag unit and unplug it.
- Loosen and remove the center nut from the steering wheel and using a puller pull of the steering wheel....
- Turn the wheel over and take note of the unit fitting.
- Remove the damaged unit and fit the replacement, making sure to align it as per instructions.
- After replacement, assemble, making sure of steering wheel alignment.
I'd be happier if you take it to a workshop, but happy honking either way....Regards Johngee10
