Battery light flashes

My 2003 Mazda tribute misses and the battery light flashes. I have already changed the battery and the alternator.What else could it be?

My 04 Tribute had the same problem. It turned out to be the very early stages of the alternator going out. It lasted for almost a year before I needed to finally get it changed.

Sounds like part of a wiring harness is shorting to ground or breaking a ground connection. Check engine to frame ground straps and engine compartment wiring. Look for loose or broken leads esp. alternator and battery wires. Perhaps the power lead to the computer is faulty causing the truck to misfire. Any engine codes?

    Stick with the obvious for now, in other words, things you can check like the wiring and ground straps. You may have to have it professionally diagnosed. If you do, keep track of EVERYTHING the truck does that seems attributable to the problem so you pay for less diag time.

03 Mazda Tribute's charging indicator light begins flashing on and off when engine reaches 1200 rpm and becomes contineously on at and above 1500 rpm. With engine idling or decelerating to below 1200 rpm...
It may be that the light is being tripped due to an "over voltage" condition. The faster you spin the alternator/engine the higher the voltage output of the alternator. I would test the voltage coming out of the alternator. It should be at about 14.3v or so max. If it gets into the 16v+ range when you increase the engine RPM then the voltage regulator has failed and needs to be replaced.

New battery will not charge
Check the Belt for Tension. If the Belt Tensioner is even a Little loose it will not allow The Alternator to Charge the Battery. Also Check the Battery Cables. Make sure that they are Clean and have no Corrosion on them.I think that the Problem is the Belt Tensioner or the Alternator Though.
