I have a 05 taurus se 3.0L v6 v2 motor. The ac compressor clutch is vibrating badly, even when the ac is on and the clutch is engaged. My question is, what is going bad and how do I fix it? Thank you for your time. Mark
I belive this type of compressor only has one 10 metric bolt in the center, the others should be rivets if they are loose the cluch is gone, but most likelly the only tool you migh need is a snap ring plyers to remove the snap ring that holds the pulley behind the front disc plate, i hope and this help
but if not if i'm wrong then go to autozone or checker and they have this toll kit to replace the clutch and it is call loan tool
the sevice allow you to pay for the tool and take it back for a full refund, in other words loan tool, good luck
Ok if the clutch is vivrating then the clutch assembly is not good you need to replace it, unfortunatelly the clucth might cost you
almost as much as a new or rebuilt compressor except to you if
you want to replace either or, but if you want to save some money go to a place where they specialize in a/c and ask to buy a used clutch, but if you don't know how to replace it then have some one do it for you, but if you know little be about mechanic you should be hable to do it your self, just se the gap between the front side of clutch to the compressor pulley and try to leave about the same gap when you installed the way todjust the gap is very simple just add ar remove washers between cluch and shaft

Hi
This could be any number of things, low system pressure, chattering relay, faulty cycling switch, failed compressor, poor cooling, the list goes on.
I'm afraid this is a job for the professionals!
Very best regards
