Thought the fuel pump was bad, engine died but after hitting tank with mallet it started up and ran. replace fuel filter. started and ran a few min then died wouldnt start up. replace fuel relay still wont start. there is spark at the plugs. and it starts with starting fluid in the TBI. cant hear the fuel pump run at this time

Sounds like you got some bad gas. May need to replace the fuel filter

sounds like a fuel filter issue is there an inline filter

before you do anything check you fuel line at the engine and see if you are getting fuel. sounds like its not getting any fuel.

Tune up,plugs wires,coils.crankshaft sensor.

It is normal for the pump to run for two seconds when first switched on to pressurize the fuel system. It will turn on again when cranking and while running. I would still suspect the pump given your symptoms, however other problems could also give you the same symptoms. If it is the original pump from 2002, or more than about 7 or 8 years old, I would definitely replace it, and the fuel filter. Often the pump will go intermittent. I had one that I could restart and get down the road by hitting the bottom of the gas tank a few times!

If it is a minivan there is a connector under the floor on the drivers side behind drivers seat under van.(by front of sliding door) Could have water in it. Or your fuel pump could have gone bad.
If you have a rubber mallet I would try tapping on the middle of the fuel tank while someone is trying
to start it. Do you hear the fuel pump run for 3 second when the key is first turned on? If not hit the tank with the mallet. What van model and year and what engine is it?

Since the fuel pump is in the gas tank, your pump picked up debris, and dirt on the bottom of the tank and ran it into your fuel filter.
Replace fuel filter, and check fuel pump fuse.
Running your vehicle with less than a 1/4 tank of gas is hard on the pump, because the fuel pump uses gas to cool it.

Sounds like it might be either the fuel filter or the fuel pump, cause if you ran the tank down, you probably had sludge in the bottom of the tank that you sucked into the engine, you can try using a fuel system cleaner, you may have sucked sludge into the injectors running it, Zmax sells a fuel system cleaner, or there is one called RUN RIGHT, I would try putting some of that in letting it sit a few min then after it sat a few to soak in and break down the sludge, then start the car up, kick your idle up to around 1500 RPM do not go higher then that cause you will damage the engine, try that and see if that works for you, if not then I is probably the fuel pump or filter.

crawl under the Blazer and hit the gas tank with a heavy rubber mallet with the key in the on posision now try to start the blazer if the blazer starts up replace your fuel pump trust me if you fuel pump is stuck this can free it for and emergancy and you can get it some were
