This depends on how hot, if you drove awhile when it was overheating you may have done damage or not its hard to say, the first thing is to try to get it running then figure out why the coolant was low, you will need to check for spark first, remove a sparkplug wire and place it near a ground, remove at the plug and stick a screwdriver in the boot place near ground like engine or metal bracket, have someone spin the key and see if theres spark,if theres spark then spray starting fluid into throtlebody and see if it starts for a bit, these test will tell you if its a spark or fuel problem, if it runs on starting fluid then you may have a bad fuelpump, if theres no spark, then i would have the computer scanned for codes these codes will help in pin pointing the problem, it could be a coil or crank sensor, hope this helps.
