2004 Civic Drivers door lock

My daughters door lock on the drivers door is very intermitant. Sometimes you can lock it by the key or by hand while most other times you cannot even get it to push down. It feels like I'm fighting the actuator or something. Unlock by hand or key is Okay but only rarely by FOB. Passanger lock works well and the FOB seems to be good too. FOB has new battery. Thanks for your help

I am having the same problem with the driver's lock on my 04 civic. I have to hold the inside door handle and puch the lock at the same time in order to get the lock to go down. I had a non-dealer look at it and he said it was likely a problem with some sort of module, and he said it's expensive and something the dealer should fix. I've also had problems with the fuel door and the "pop-trunk" button, and I think the problems may all be related. I think the cables that run down or near the driver's side door. I'm planning on taking the car to the dealer in the next week or so, and I'll let you know what I find out.

The driver's side door lock button is designed not to lock from the inside unless the handle is pulled, or the power switch is used. This serves as a reminder to not lock your keys inside.

If you are inside, and push down on the button (not the switch) hard enough to lock it, you've probably damaged it.

I am having problems with my driver's door lock, it does not lock by key, the only way i can get it to work is to lock it by opening the back door and sliding my hand to the front and locking it while the door is closed.
But it stopped locking with the key and i have to open the passenger's door lock and then open my door from the inside.
Now my trunk will not open with the key. This must be some kind of electrical fix that's keeping my door from opening.
Any ideas"""??????

My key won't unlock drivers side lock on my 2004 honda civic ex

Your problem is not descriptive enough. Has it always been like this or just started happening? If it has always been like this, there is a possibility of a faulty lock OR someone has the door lock replaced and in that event, a new one from Honda comes with a new key that is different from the one for the ignition and the trunk and the glove box. Please provide more details.

Key stuck in drivers side door on a 2004 Civic

You may have to remove the lock barrel and play with the tumblers from the inside to release the key.It is likely that your new key requires filing down slightly to match the wear of your old key before it will work.Otherwise, replace your lock barrel.

How do I turn off the car alarm? There's nothing in the manual. (2004 civic hybrid)

Unlock the drivers door twice. The other doors have to be closed and if their not electrically closed it'll still not reset. Double lock the drivers door with the key all the doors should lock.. The alarm should stop. Unlock the drivers door and then get inthe car and start it soon. the sysstem should go though a full reset and it should be normal again.

Remote won't lock the Drivers side lock

hi there you say you have had the lock changed do you mean the key hole or the door closure part of the lock?
if you changed the key part its the main lock that's faulty and the reveres is true ,
if the remote is working on one door it is not the remote that's the problem.
i hope that this has been helpful regards John
