Air light has come on? how can this be turned of?
You have to use VagCom (the diagnostic software that Audi uses) to turn off an airbag warning light. If you have a laptop that can go out to your driveway, go to www.ross-tech.com and download VagCom (it's free). Go on eBay and do a search for "Audi TT vagcom cable" and you'll find the interface cable for about $20. Buy that, and then you'll have the software to do it.
If you're not able or interested in it, you can go to the dealership and have them turn off the light - they'll charge you an hour's labor to do it (it takes less than four minutes, but they don't care - you're going to pay them between $60-100 to do it).
What you need to see is which bag is tripping the warning. On the A4s, it's usually the driver's side airbag (built into the seat). Moving the seat too far back or down tends to pull on the electrical connector for the airbag, separating it just enough to trip a warning light. When mine did this in my A4, I zip-tied the connector tightly to keep it from separating, then turned off the light, and have had no problems since. When you look under the seat for the connector, it's the yellow one (airbag wiring connectors are always yellow, as mandated by law). Just be careful not to pinch the wires when you tie it.
There is a key switch in the glove box has this been switched off for some reason

In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to follow factory Airbag disarming protocol can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury or death.

DIAGNOSIS WITH SCAN TOOL
CHECK PROCEDURES
1.
Connect the Hi-Scan Pro to the vehicle data link connector located underneath the dash panel.
2.
Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and turn on the Hi-Scan Pro .
3.
Check for diagnostic trouble codes.
4.
If a fault code is found, then replace the appropriate component. Never attempt to repair the component.
5.
If the Hi-Scan Pro finds that a component of the system is faulty, there is a possibility that the fault is not in the components but in the SRS wiring or connector.
The SRS airbag system has sophisticated electrical and electronic components. Therefore the airbag operating components should be handled very carefully.
SRSCM (Supplement Restraint System Control Module)
SRSCM determines when to deploy the airbag module by sensing the frontal and side impact force through the built in sensor SRSCM.

the air bag light will only show if the ignition was turned on while it was disconnected.
it will defo need to be pluged into the computer to be put out but some smaller garages will have the software to do this and will be a little cheaper.here in ireland VW wanted 50euro to do mine but a small garage done it for 30euro.
you can buy code finders/reset gadgets on ebay but might not be worth it for one job compared to $130.
my suggestion would be to get the main dealer to do it if a normal automotive shop cannot access it.

Common fault on FORD
Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.
Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag fault

When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1 hour prior.
