Re: When is the timing belt due for replacement on a 2004...
These actually have a timing chain, and should last for the life of the engine. I do believe there is suppose to be a valve adjustment though at 110k. Thanks, Lee

Hi. Thanks for your question. For gear related issues on Honda Civic you can visit https://www.reliable-store.com and download the entire workshop manual which includes all the information along with the diagrams for better understanding. Good day!
Did the old belt break? If so, check to see if the valves are bent. If this isn't the issue, 1 tooth off will keep it from starting, the cam marks have to be aligned with the alignment marks on the head.
LOOK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE AND SEE IF THERE IS A PLASTIC COVER AT THAT END OF THE ENGINE ..THIS IS THE ACCES POINT TO CHANGE THE TIMING BELT...
Honda reccomends timing belt change at 100k. Most Honda dealers like you to change the belt at 90,000 miles (90k). some auto repair places will want to change the belt at 60k but that is not necessary (Note: if in a severe cold or hot climate like florida or canada you would change the belt before 90k or if the belt is over 7 years old.. Good luck:
