Reconize that the parking brake is on the inside of the rotor and if the parking brake is on the rotor won't turn or come off. You did take the cap in the center of the rotor off and remove the cotter pin and the nut and bearing, just like the front wheels on the old cars that were rear wheel drive, didn't you?

The rotor can be rusted on. I spray blaster pernterant on the lug bolts and arounfd the caenter of the hub and hit it in the hub edge with a big hammer ( 8 Lb. ) and they come off Ok as long as the parking brake isn't hanging up.

Remove front brake rotors

The caliper needs to be removed by removing the two bolts on the back side of the caliper. Make sure that there is no kinda clip on one of the lug bolts. If the rotor is stuck a few whacks on the rear of the rotor with a rubber mallet should pop right off. I hope its a little helpful.

How to remove front wheel hub on 2006 pacifica ?

Hi Eric, I'm glad to help. First remove both front wheels. Then press the caliper back just a little so its easier to remove off the rotor. CAUTION: "DO NOT" let the caliper hang by the brake hose, this can cause problems with your brakes, hang it up, or lay it somewhere so its supported. NEXT: Remove the rotor, then remove the cotter key and NUT that holds the axle in place. NEXT: Remove the wheel speed sensor from the hub. NEXT: You'll need to push back on the axle so that you have enough clearance to get to the HUB BOLTS behind it. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the HUB in place, the tap the hub outward from the vehicle. Once out replace the new one in reverse procedure. CAUTION: After everything is back in place you need to pump the brakes so they will press the rotors again, failure to do this will cause an accident. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Eric.

How do i get the calapers off the rear of a 2006 grand caravane?

Using a C clamp depress the claiper. There a spot right in the middle to do this. Now the fun part hope you have metic hex key set. The 2 caliper guide pins are on the back inside the boots. Which need to be in great condition. Using the metic hex keys some are 7mm or 8mm turn to your right to remove. Rmove the caliper mounting bracket bolts. Fun part #2 removing the disc rotor. Theres parking brake pads or a durm brake system on the inside of the rotor. If the rotor does not slide off. You must remove the rubber gromet on the back of the backing plate. Using a screwdriver or the old brake adjuster tool turn the star wheel to adjust the parking brake in to remove the disc rotor. All brake guides on the calipers & guide pins need to have high temperture brake grease applyed to them. Buy the big bottle for $10 for the front brakes & future use it comes with a bush. Note ** Remove a guide pin take to auto store buy socket to reinstall guide pin/bolt. Why Caliper guide pins 26lbs torque. Caliper mounting bolts 125lb torque

How do i replace front pads on 2005 chrysler pacifica

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE!!!!

Removal & Installation
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Front wheels
  3. Place a C-clamp over the caliper as illustrated, place a screw drive head against the outboard pad and hook against the rear of the caliper. Slowly tighten the screw drive and retract the caliper pistons into their bores and breaking the outboard brake pad from the caliper fingers.
  4. Once the pad is free, slide the caliper in on the guides to provide clearance between the rotor and inboard pad.
  5. Place an appropriate prytool through the center opening in the top of the caliper behind the inboard pad between the pistons using care not to contact the piston boots. Pry the pad to free it from the pistons.
  6. Remove the two caliper guide pin bolts and position the caliper aside. Remove the brake pads.

  2. Install or connect the following:
    • Brake pads with anti-rattle clips onto the adapter
    • Caliper and align the guide pin bolt holes with the guide pins. Install the pin bolts and tighten to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
    • Banjo bolt with new washers on each side of the hose fitting and tighten to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm)
    • Wheels
    • Negative battery cable

I need to change front brake pads

You have two bolts to remove the caliper (it will still be attached to the flex hose). then use a C clamp to compress the caliper piston (one side on outside brake pad the other end on the back of the caliper). Inspect other components, replace pads and reinstall. I would highly recommend replacing rotors as well or at least having them turned. Its a pretty easy job if you have done similar jobs in the past.

2006 toyota corolla - rotors

The large bolt that you see is the nut that holds the axle shaft to the hub. You do not need to remove it to remove the rotors. You just need to remove the caliper & the caliper bracket. Normally, the rotors come off of the hubs easily, but sometimes, they rust onto the hub. My techs beat and beat and beat until they come off. With large hammers. Note that after they are beaten off, the rotors are no longer viable for re-use.
