I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and the 6 disc CD player is not working. I've had it since Spring of this year and this is the first time it has acted up. When I put a CD into it, it says "Check CD" over, and over. Earlier this week my CD's were stuck in it and it wouldn't eject them until a day later. Is there a reset button or something I can hit?

SOURCE: CD player is not working.

I would first try removing the fuse to the radio/cd player, see if that resets the system and get the cd out.

Hope this helps some.

Cd Player Automatically Ejects Disc

Hi there:
This normally happens when the laser gets dirty and can't read a cd. more common in a smokers car or if living in a dusty area. You can get a cd lens cleaning kit. just a black cd with alike a fake eyelash attached to the bottom side...as it spins it bushes dust off the optical eye of the laser...this is what actually reads the disc.

Other choice, the mechanical system of the player is stuck thats why it cant read the disc anymore, you should put some oil on the mechanical part to lossen some stuck up parts.

Als HERE other Mazda opinnions.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I have a 2004 Mazda 3 w/ a single disc CD player...which has not been working for several months. There is a cd in the player but nothing happens when I press the eject button nor the CD button; won't...

Possible that the cd disc has jammed due to a change in the disc- warming can bend some cd's, also if the cd is struck inside as the loading mechanism is struck. In both cases the set must be pulled out if there is no hope with trying to retrieve the cd softly assisting while ejecting. If you do not hear any noise while the eject is pressed then the loading drive is faulty , you need to remove the cd , open to check, If this is mechanical then you can softly push the cd out, if not the electonic section needs a check.

We can't get the factory 6 disc cd player to load more than 1 disc. What is the sequence for loading additional discs?

The following is the owner's manual for your 2004 Dodge Neon:

http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html?year=2004&nameplate=Neon

P.99 describes how to load discs:

1. Select and press any numbered button without an illuminated light above it.
2. Insert the CD while the light above the chosen button is flashing and the two lights on either side of the slot are illuminated.
3. Upon insertion, the CD will begin to play, and both the button light and the lights in the corner of the loading slot will illuminate.
4. Repeat the process for loading any additional CDs. The CD playe rwill stop while additional CDs are loaded.

Playing Discs
The radio will show the CD number, the CD track number, and the Track Time Elapsed while the radio is in the CD mode. IF more than one CD is loaded in the changer, the changer will automatically play the next disc after playing the last track of the current disc.

Wow, that's a lot of typing.
I didn't know the 2004 Dodge Neon had such a nice changer.
Good luck.

6-Disc CD Changer is not working

Unfortunately most times with these 6-disc systems once it quits working it is usually time for a new unit. The manufacturers all reccomend reprogramming the radio, but this rarely does anything other than waste your time and money. Go for the new radio.
