Winshield washer motor does not run

If you have washer fluid in the contaner under your hood, then have someone listen with the hood up to see if the motor on the pump runs. If it does not run you have a loose connection usually at the washer motor or a bad fuze to the water pump. Fuse is in the fuse cluster, usually under the dash.

Stearing colum has to come apart, but for now pull the fuse. The one it is will be listed in the owners manual, or inside the cover of the fuse box.

the winshield motor may have gone bad .the owners manual will have a section in it that shows what fues goes to where if u dont have a owners manual u can purchase one at the auto parts store ...if not go to youre local library and look at the chiltons motor manual u can copy the pages .

find out if you are getting volyage to the wiper motor, if not replace your switch

can you hear the pump running.  If not check the fuses.  If you do and there is fluid.  Remove a hose from the back of the nozzle and se if fluid flows.  If so clean the nozzles with a needle as they plug up.

According to the owner's manual
fuse in location # 12 for the washer pump relay and
in the power distribution box of a 2001 Sport Trac ( PD BOX IS LIVE - DISCONNECT
YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE) in location # 46 B is the front washer pump
relay.

The wiper and washer motors us the same fuse. So if the wipers work, it's not the fuse. The washer motor wiring, the top wire is voltage, bottom wire is ground. As you can see, at the wiper/washer switch, #5 sends voltage for washer motor, you can see the wire colors. If good voltage and ground and no washer action suspect the washer motor. Before replacing anything, make sure the plumbing from washer fluid to windshield is not clogged.
