It is probably the engine Temperature sensor that is faulty. It is telling your ECU that the car is warm so will not evoke the cold start program causing under fuelling so in effect no choke on cold start. There is a clever self diagnosis that your ECU can do to tell you what sensor is faulty. Go to the following link to get full instructions on what to do to get these readouts. It is very clever and makes life real easy. Hope it helps. http://www.scoobyluke.com/scoob_ecucodes.php

Car wont start right after i shut it off?

With the oil looking milky white or like chocolate milk it sounds like you have an overheating issue and possibly need to pull the heads and replace the head gasket and get your heads machined. I don't know why after just sitting for a month this would have happened unless it had problems prior to being parked. You are going to want to run a compression test and see what you are getting compression wise. You'll also want to pressure test the cooling system and see if you have a leak. If all shows well then you are going to want to replace the oil and filter, replace plugs and if it has wires also replace them. If any of the tests show a failure you are going to have to rebuild the top end of the vehicle. Not trying to scare you I just want to give you all the information that you need. If you are doing these yourself you can go to your local auto parts store and rent the compression test kit and also the cooling system kit.

Check the Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD) in engine power distribution box (left inner fender-under hood)
You should hear fuel pump for 15 sec after you turn on key

My Subaru legacy grandwagon has started cutting out at idle speed (intermittently) & also sometimes if you go on a short errand then it wont start when you get back in the car. Engine turns over...

You could have a number of problems. First do a complete tune up, proper timing, new plugs etc.

Turn the key and do not give it gas. If it starts slowly give it gas and let me know what it does. I suspect it will cut out. In that case, you might have bad injectors. Let me know if I can be of further help

You have a bad starter if all your connections are good and your battery is measuring 12.7 volts and above with engine off.
