Fluit all over the engine.I saw look like leak come from between power pump &hose.What i do?is it bad hose or powerpump crach.

If above the pump, it is usually the cam cover gasket in a Camry.

what are the.......?
overheated engine. (pinging to destruction)
leaking (same, end of engine, in many cases)

I saw a corvette going fast one day, and saw his lower rad hose fail
at 70mph. (catastrophic, looked like Niagara falls)
i honked and waved, he flipped me off, and boom
he burned is motor up. (you made me remember that, at my age amazing.)

lets do the leak test.
get engine fully hot. no 1./2 way , fully, fully is 180 to 200F .
gauge in dash be damned. I pyro gun it. The honda manual shows better ways, drive it 20 miles, park.
then let it idle , doing the RAD fan test in the FSM.
the rad fan comes on , this fact tells you its REALLY HOT AND NORMAL.
so now just look with eyes, keep hands in pockets.
look at every hose and cooling parts on engine
see leaks.
at this time there is 14PSI coolant pressure, and any leaks
are all very obvious, and childs play to find, just look, and bingo
all hoses, waterpump (and its weep hole) and the RAD.
all big and small coolant lines. (many)

You have a power steering pump and 2 hoses in that area (which go from the pump to the rack & pinion) which cause the wheels to turn back and forth.
Likely one of the hoses has failed and is leaking.

Well, if that Radiator hose is not leaking, then the Water pump seals have gone bad. More than likely you need a new water pump.

Vehicles w/ Timing Belt Driven Water Pumps Should Always Have The Water Pump Replaced When The Timing Belt Is Replaced.

If you do not, then the Timing Belt will fail, turning a low cost repair into thousands because of valve train damages. . .

you are looking at a water pump problem, have fun

from what you describe I am sure it is the water pump that is leaking, check the pump bearing for play to confirm

Sounds like you need a new power steering hose. To verify this, I would dry up any wet areas on the hose and pump with a towel, get a flashlight and start the vehicle and try to determine the exact site of the leak which is usually at the ends of the hoses. Good luck!

Very common problem on this car. Usually it is a combination of 2 items: the pressure hose to the rack & pinion and the power steering pump itself. Since the hose is located above the pump it most likely will look as if the pump is leaking. Suggestion: if the hose is wet, replace it first (it's a 2 piece deal), then thoroughly clean the area including the pump. Run the car for awhile and recheck for leaks. No leaks - you got off cheap. :)

Sounds like you bought the wrong hose. also check the o-rings & be sure to use new ones when replacing the hose. Be sure you have it in right & not cross threaded. If it's cross threaded,you got a major problem. First it will always leak,second you probably ruined the pump or rack where it screws in. If it's engine oil,then buy a dye from the auto parts store of choice & have it checked by a shop with an ultra violet light.

The thermostat is bolted into the bottom of the water pump, the lower radiator hose connects to a cover that holds the thermostat to the water pump.

the thermostat can be difficult to get at because the AC and power steering pump are all bolted on top of the water pump,

Your problem may not be a bad thermostat.
I would also check:

1) water pump, some of the vw pumps are poorly made & tend to go bad.

2) fans belts, it can be tricky to get the right tension on these belts due to a badly designed tensioner system on the power steering & water pump belt.

3) hoses, radiator, coolant tank,. the radiators and coolant tank tend to leak when they get old, the plastic cracks or the rubber seals go bad.
Also check the electrical system controlling the engine cooling fans. there are sensors and relays that can go bad.
I have owned 8 vw's most of the major problems with these cars was due to electical problems.

4) Engine problems such as a blown head gaskets, or ignition timing problems can cause overheating. luckily VW engines usually don't have these problems, unlike other companies 4 cylinder engines (the Dodge Neons for example)
