My check engine light came on (blinking) I know that I am behind in oil changes, and I checked my oil, it is low. Will this cause the light to blink?

Blinking check engine light is not good at all. It is a type of misfire that will cause catalytic convertor damage!!! Get the problem taken care of before you have to invest thousands on convertors.

Your check engine light---indicates a possible system failure, nothing to do with oil
You have it checked for codes, diagnose the issue and repair

Your oil should never be low.
If you go as much as 5000 miles on an oil change and really drive it hard, you may loose a 1/2 qt in 5,000 miles

Check engine light blinking car shaking, oil light on after a few miles from starting

May be low oil, low oil pressure (faulty oil pump) or a bad pressure switch. When your at highway speeds the pump, pumps faster & brings the oil to the right PSI. Try a thicker oil than called for, get the oil pressure checked, oil leaks? & get the switch ckd out.

Why is oil light blinking?

Oil light blinking usually indicated low oil pressure / viscosity. Probably either low on oil, incorrect oil weight, poor quality oil, or needs oil changed..........Mike

Oil light comes on during full throttle

That can be caused by low oil, low oil pressure, a filter starting to clog, wrong type of oil in engine, or the oil needing changed. You should first change the oil and filter then check your oil pressure and go from there.

The check engine light came on, not starting now

Change out your oil cause its low or dirty.  Take the thing into the auto parts store or a mechanic so they can hook the thing up to their computer and see what trouble codes come up from the check engine light.

2001 plymouth neon oil light keeps blinling on and off

You have an oil leak. From where is the question. On most Dodge products, the oil pressure sensor is behind the oil filter. Petroleum products are solvents, however mild. This affects gaskets, wires, hoses, you name it. Have someone check the wires on the oil pressure sensor. Also see if it is screwed in tight. Neons are buzzy little engines and tend to have minor stuff wiggle loose from time to time. There is the possibility of having a "Double Gasket" on the oil filter which would cause the oil to leak and pressure to drop at lower RPMs. If all of that checks out, then you might need a new oil pump.

Oil light blinks on my 2004 vw jetta

has the dealer hooked up a mechanical test guage to see if the oil pressure is really low? If it is low make them fix it, low oil pressure will destroy the engine in a very short time. Low oil pressure is caused by either worn engine bearings or a defective oil pump.

BLINKING OIL LIGHT

Yes....Check oil level. Listen for tapping noises from engine....Change oil, have someone put a pressure gauge on engine (a real mechanical one) If pressure is OK, change oil pressure sending unit. If pressure is low, you have a real problem (internal wear) If so, consider a rebuild or replace vehicle.
