The clicking is the coil side of the horn relay....That pulls in the contact which carries the heavier currant needed for the horn operation.
To work on this fault you'll need an electrical test meter or light....

  • Locate the actual relay by having someone press the horn and NOT hold it down
  • The clicking will lead you to its position.
  • Unhook it from its bracket and with the meter check that the switching side of the relay is closing when the horn is pressed.
  • If not replace the relay.
  • If power is going across the switching side go to the connection on the horn at the front of the vehicle and check the power output there
  • If you have power there, check to make sure the earth contact to the body is intact.
  • The earth contact is usually through the horn button via a contactor on the steering wheel assembly.
  • I would think that that is fine as the relay is operating.
  • if all power is coming from the relay and the horn is grounded correctly, replace the actual horn.
Have a good honk best regards Johngee10

I can not find horn fuse or relay

The first thing is to check the fuse and if thats sokay then check the horns they may be bad, if you use a testlight and have someone push on the horn button and see if theres power to it, if theres power then the horns are bad if theres no power and the fuse is good then you may have a bad horn relay or a problem with the horn buttons or a wire in the steering column, okay lets start with the fuse location, the fuse box is located on the leftside of the dash behind the trim panel, i have enclosed the fuse box diagram and circled the horn fuse which is in location #14 and is a 20amp fuse, take note that the horn fuse is the same as the lighter and glovebox light and power antenna, so if those things are working its not the fuse but you can check it anyway, the horn relay is located on the pass/side of the dash to the right of the glove box under the dash, there you will see a relay box with alot of relays, the horn relay is slot # 2, i enclosed a diagram of its location and the relay spot, hope this is helpful .goodluck.johnjohn2_65.gifjohnjohn2_66.gifjohnjohn2_67.gif

Am trying to find out were the horn fuse is

The fuse box is behind the glove box. You might have to pull the glove box past the stops to access the fuses. The 15 amp horn fuse should be there. There is also a horn relay, which is usually located in the engine compartment relay box. Please see my tip if you want to check the relay socket: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check

I need to know what fuses control the horn in my car

From page 130 of my UK spec Focus manual (Right-hand drive): -

Central fuse box is located on the left hand side underneath the instrument panel .
Open the glove compartment. Push in both sides of the glove compartment and swivel it down completely.
The fuses are behind.

The horn and power seats are on fuse number 33, coloured yellow and rated at 20 Amps.
