Your Accord has what is called "Trapped Rotors". They actually fit behind the hub. The procedure to remove them is not complicated, but it is time consuming.
Here is how I do it:
1) Remove axle retaining nut.
2) Remove brake caliper and bracket.
3) Remove lower ball joint retaining nut and use pickle fork to loosen spindle from lower ball joint.
4) Remove axle from hub.
5) On the back of the spindle, remove four bolts that attach hub/bearing to spindle.
6) Use slide hammer to remove rotor/hub assembly.
7) Remove 4 bolts attaching rotor to hub.
8) While it is a snug fit, the hub bearing does slide through center of rotor to remove it.
Installation is in reverse order.
A bad bearing usually makes a growling noise while driving.

Why do brakes lock up 1997 Honda accord srs

Could be many reasons. Are they locked up all the time or when braking hard or when you just touch the brakes? Bad caliper, rotor, abs? Where are you located? Is the car parked outside in Boston? Could have water in brake fluid and it is frozen. Parking brakes applied?

Steering wheel shakes when brakes are applied at highr speeds like highway...

When your steering wheel shakes at highway speeds when you apply your brakes, this is caused by warped rotors in the front. This is curable by having the rotors machined if they're thick enough or replacing them.Don't forget to install new pads or hardware also.I hope this tip helped!!!!

Car shakes when braking at high speed

The front brake rotors need to be turned or replaced. If they've never been turned before, any dealer can easily fix this problem. On Honda Accords, they turn the rotors while they are sill torqued onto the hub.

Over time, the rotors heating up and cooling down leads to slight warps in the rotor. If it is warped rotors, the pedal will pulsate worse when you're going pretty fast and apply light pressure on the pedal.

A Honda dealer is the only place I would reccomend having this work done.

91 honda accord shakes when I put it in gear and step on brakes. Runs fine when I release brake. Otherwise runs smooth on road. Any suggestions?

IF IT SHAKES WHEN APPLYING BRAKE TO STOP, THEN YOUR ROTORS ARE WARPED AND SHOULD BE MACHINED TO MAKE TRUE AGAIN OR REPLACED, AND GOOD IDEA TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS AT SAME TIME.

Steering wheel is shaking when I brake

The problem lies in the front rotors. If the steering wheel is shaking without braking, then we need to break this up. If it's low speed(1-15 mph) then you have a tire that is coming apart. Highway speeds, you need the wheels balanced. If it's only while braking then you need to have the brakes inspected. If pad replacemnet is required, go for it. When they address the rotors, DO NOT TURN THEM ON A CONVENTIONAL LATHE. Honda REQUIRES them to be either turned on the vehicle(on the car lathe) or replaced. Then it comes down to quality. Always replace with the higher quality parts on these. If you do not, the problem will occur again, and the sme is true if you turn the rotors off of the car.

I have taken my 93 accord to a machanic and he recommends me to buy new calibers and rotors and brake pads. My reason for checking is when im coming to a stop or braking for that matter how can i fix it...

First of all, when calipers go bad, they corrode and freeze up.
But you can still always rebuild them unless you break the bleeder off.
So you almost never need new calipers.
When they need to be rebuilt is when they either won't go on or stick on. Which you do not have.

And while rotors do warp and need to be replaced, when they do, you feel it strongly through the brake pedal.
But a bad wheel bearing has almost the same symptoms, only is less consistent, and tends to be worse around turns.
You check wheel bearings simply by jacking the wheel off the ground and applying pressure on tire, so feel looseness.

If you get shaking and chatter without feeling it through the brake pedal, then the problem is front suspension looseness, like ball joints, track arm bushing, tie rod ends, etc.

Front end shakes bad when I brake

My dear if according to you,

You've replaced tie rod ends, lower ball joints, sway bar links, struts and strut ends, and the warped brake rotors and the issue is still at hand; then you ought to consider replacing the hubs.

Good luck.
