I would check the ends of all those little rubber vacuum hoses that are used for pollution control. They tend to go hard and /or split where they connect to the metal piping if they are over 10 years old, allowing air / vacuum leaks into the inlet manifold which upsets the idle mixture causing rough / uneven idling. If the hose is long enough you could trim about 1/2 inch off the end and reattach, but if the hose is hard and brittle the best option is to replace any suspect hoses completely. Most auto parts retailers sell the hoses cut to any length you need.
