Repair manual I have a 2001 Ford Escort and I can not locate a reapir manual. I have to replace a fuel pump and need to know specifics such as what the fuel pressure needs to be. can anyone help me out?

Looking for a location of the fuel pressure regulator on a 1994 Ford Escort
Hi,
The fuel pressure regulator is on the end of the fuel rail, which is where the injectors are plugged into. It is the round part which is attached to the very end of the rail.

Cannot find belt tensioner on 2001 ford escort
  • Locate the serpentine belt tensioner on the front of the engine. The belt tensioner on the 2001 Ford Escort is located directly under the power steering pump and above the air conditioner pump. The belt tensioner has a 17 mm bolt head in the center of the pulley.

    The fuel pump fuse is located in the junction box under the hood, near the battery. Hope this helps

    I own a 1995 ford escort. suspect that the fuse for the fuel pump is bad. Can't locate.
    Fuse should be labeled as fuel pump or fuel injection. Fords also have a fuel pump relay, a fuel pump shut off button, reset, under dash by the hump, in case of crash.
    Could be the pump itself.

    Instructions for replacing fuel pump in a 2001 ford Escort ZX2
    Remove the rear seat, remove the 4 screws holding the metal cover, and you'll see the top of the fuel tank. The pump module is held in place by a locking ring that can be removed by use of a brass punch and hammer. If the ring is rusted, it'll get damaged during removal and will need replaced. You can get a new ring from Ford. Once the ring is removed, you can pull the pump module out. Remove the small screws from the top of the module and you can pull the top off of the basket to gain access to the fuel pump. Replace the pump and get new fuel pump strainers.
