BMW 323i - what can I do when my navigation system won't boot?

It would be a LOT cheaper to buy a Garmin GPS dash unit.. anything the dealer does for this will be very costly.

Did you recently add Freon in your AC system? You might have too much Freon in the system, which caused the AC compressor to recycle more frequent than normal. Or you might not have enough Freon in the system. These BMW's are very AC system are very finicky. Get an AC gauge and check the level (high side & Low side) pressure.

Transmission vehicle speed sensor

Are you trying to test it for accuracy? If so, yes it's possible but you'll need special equipment to test it, plus you need to remove it from the vehicle (depending on year, it changed a lot from 1983 to 2013, add a year in the comments will be helpful).

Your simplest option is to drive some known distance and check to see if the odometer reads that you traveled the same distance, or drive beside a friend with a good speedo and see if it matches yours. Or, most GPS systems will calculate your speed too.

I have recently added a Bluetooth ULF module to my car, every thing works except sound. I purchased the system from bimmernav.com, they supplied the old to new harness to connect from the original harness...

Hello Richard, when the ulf module was installed, was the jumper plug installed in the blue 26 pin connector in the left rear corner near the GPS unit. I think that if this plug is missing, you will not get any sound for the interface. This plug is required for vehicles with nav. I think it is called the Voice Input jumper plug.

I have an early e46 with the cassette player in the front and the cd changer in the boot. Can I swap the head unit for one with a cd player in it, and do I need anything else ? Thanks

You can replace the old radio and cassette player with a new modern aftermarket dvd player gps navigation unit like this.
Car DVD BMW E46 Navigation System E46 DVD GPS Navi

It's with more features except navigation system, USB, iPod, AUX, SD, DVD player, rear view camera video input, and it's touch screen, easy operation.

2000 BWM 528i coolant leak

The 2000 BMW uses a non silica based coolant. OK to use a silica free coolant. Dex-cool is the same. Just make sure it is SILICA free.
Silica based freon supposedly decreases the life span of the coolant system.
