My mazda mpv van is overheating. Couple days ago it over heated from not having coolant. I put coolant in and chan the fan belt and also the alternator. 3 days later I park and the hood was smoking. It's coming from behind the alternator and by the starter. Any suggestions?

Are there clogs in the system that may be fixed by flushing and filling with coolant?

Do both tubes leading to the heater core get hot when the engine is hot?

If not, then the heater core is plugged up.

Otherwise, if the two tubes are hot leading to the heater core, the blend door is not opening.

Also, is the radiator's cooling fan operating when it gets hot?

These are a few questions to ask.

Good luck on this repair.

2008 Honda CR-V heat works intermittently. I replaced the heat control module and it still only works intermittently. It only seems to come on when it's really cold. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you.

dash HVAC heater fails.
well there are only 2 causes. (macro viewed)
engine bay or cab failures.
engine is not hot 180F up. thermostat bad.
we scan the PCM see PID data ECT is 150f and bingo bad stat. if stuck there. it is bad. end store and simple fix. new stat.

all fuses checked for good.
next is cause #2 cab parts failing in dash. heater box.
  1. blower dead on high you never said it works/?
  2. blend door struck on cold. bad damper hinge stuck or
  3. bad blend door actuator motor dead.
  4. dash controls bad.
there is a test for each case covered in the service manual, buy one>?

2001 Mazda MPV overheats. radiator hose doesnt feel pressurised ie very soft to squeeze. when i put coolant in after 5 mins of driving is backflows out of the reservoir and causes heavy smoking from t

sounds like the radiator is blocked either coolant flow or ext air flow through the matrix the thermostat can get ruined when the system overheats so allways change the stat after a overheat problem GET THE RAD CHECKED FIRST if ok check the coolant pump

Hi carl i had pontiac montana m1999 overheating after i travel like 40 km n all the coolant going back to the reservoir

Hello, if you've changed the pump. cap. and t-stat and its overheating still i need to say that just because you replaced those parts doesnt necissarily mean they work. Im mainly talking about the t-stat and cap. was this your first time installing a tstat? They go in a certain way. Make sure you put it in the right direction. Your vehicles engine might require you to purge your coolant system of all air. On some cars air will remain trapped in the area right at the tstat causing it not to work therefore not opening up and no t circulating the coolant. I would start there myself. If thats not the case, next id flush the radiator. I would like to know what the problem symptoms were wich led yoy to replace those parts please.

I just reapir the overheating problem on my 2001 chevy silverado 5.3 2wd. I am still overheating...it is full of coolant...reservour is still at the fill line with GM dexcool coolant. The problem to begin...

If it overheated i would replace the thermostant and gasket, also make sure its full of coolant, after replacing the thermostat you may have air in system so let it run until stat opens it may boil over a little until stat opens then it will **** coolant into block when that happens fill with coolant, you will need to let it idle for a while before new stat opens, hope this helps, good luck, i think the stat went bad the first time it overheated.

My 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali 6.0L is over heating and the interior heat does not work. Is this the water pump or is there a thermostat sticking? I'm in the mountains and thought maybe something was frozen...

overheating can be caused by stuck shut t-stat but u would have heat at-stat stuck open no overheating and no heat. a waterpump that the impeller broke or rotted of can cause your problem but rarly seen does your fan work or any leakage or low coolant can cause air pocket and overheating no heat. let me know and we go foward
