How do I adjust low idle adaptation on 2005 Tacoma prerunner 4.0

1. Relearn the idle speed by disconnecting the EFI fuse and the ECTS fuse from the under hood fuse box. Leave the fuses out for 2-3 minutes minimum. Reinstall the fuses. Using your finger, push the throttle plates closed completely. Hold the throttle plates closed completely and have a helper turn the ignition switch on. Release the throttle plates as soon as the key is turned on. Reinstall the boot to the throttle body and start the vehicle. Allow the vehicle to idle for 5 minutes. Test drive the vehicle and check for normal idle operation.

When i turn the key the starter does not turn over i checked the fuse inside the truck and the ignition fuse was working the power wires that are running to the starter are intact and tight idk where...

if its a standard the safety switch on the clutch auto or standard you need to check the starter to see if its getting power. If you have power at the starter then your starter is kaput. Good luck!

Could be your starter. If you turn it and it doesn't crank, should be the starter.

Turn key and nothing. no clicking. nothing. battery fully charged, lights and radio come on. Is it the starter? Or is there a fuse I do not know about?

could be the starter, get a cheap test lite and get under the truck, on the starter is 2 wires, a big one, and a little one, peirce the little one with test lite and have someone turn the key, if it lites up replace the starter

Prerunner wont pass smog due to engine service light

Not positive on this so consider only. The o2 sensor is what actually tells everything else what is going on with emmission and everything else adjusts to what info it relays. The o2 is also subjected to extreme temps and cooling cycles. So, instead of spending money on no answer diagnostism give replacement of o3 sensor so consideratio. If you choose to replace, wd40 and let exhaust cool down. Good Luck.

I don't know if your truck uses this method but several vehicles I have owned would turn on the electric cooling fan to combat the natural temperature rise that occurs in the engine once the coolant is not circulating anymore.
This prevents hard starting in a hot engine and if the thermostatic switch fails that controls the fan, the cooling (and turn-on) doesn't happen.
This may be your problem.
