Have replaced fuel tank filter (emptied tank first) and fuel line filter(electic fuel ppump work fine/good pressure and flow); but even tough the runs well I have repeatedly had the engine die on acceleration and acts as tough it is fuel staved. Question is; is there another filter in the main fuelintake or can it be the float value itself?

This certainly sounds like a fuel restriction issue and can be caused by a number of reasons. Since you replaced all known filters already then the next step is to try and locate a squashed rubber fuel line or a partially crushed metal fuel line. Also, if there is a single small hole in any fuel line, it may cause your fuel delivery system to **** air and this will wind up in the fuel resevoir preventing fuel delivery to your intake so plugging your fuel lines on both ends and then running a pressure check on those lines will tell you if you have a hole anywhere along the fuel line path. Also, there could be a leak in your intake manifold such as a bad gasket or cracked housing.

1997 Ford F-150 4.2 V6 boggs down going up hill and stepping on gas.

Check or replace fuel filter again. You could have had a lot of sediment in your tank. If it ran good for a week, that's where you need to start figuring out what was replaced during that time. If you can, check fuel pressure at schraeder valve on fuel rail.

I have a 1987 dodge dakota, when You crank it, it acts like it wants to switch over but it will die Down even if I keep tryin to hold the igniton on. Does anyone know of a soultion?

Sounds to me like the fuel pump died in the tank. pull a line being care full of any sparks and see if you are getting fuel under pressure and not just a dribble, it could also have the filter clogged. the one in the tank,. for the pump is replaceable but you must drop the tank to do this. again be care full of fumes and sparks. if you follow the lines from the tank you may find a filter on the frame , you need the right wrenches, loosen it just enough for it to leak turn the key to on but don't start! the surge should provide enough to say if there is flow or pressure. Warning pressure can be high so you may get a good spray of fuel , check both sides of the filter to see if it just might be clogged, flow should be same if good.

I have a1977 motor home with a 460 ford engine it runs good for 4-5 miles then looses power i can stop then take off again runs good a little ways then does it again getting worse the farther you drive it....

The problem is deffenatly fuel related. Possably a weak fuel pump if you have replaced the filters meaning all filters even in the pump . But the when hot could also be what is called vapor lock in the fuel line so air is getting in the fuel line for what ever reason and when the vehicle gets to opperating tempature its building up pressure inside the fuel line stoping the fuel flow to the carburator . If this is it you can fix it buy adding a accressery filter before the steel line begins . Or it could be the power valve in the carburator or the inlet filter in the carb or the carburator just need to be rebuild if its a 2 berral its not a problem if its a 4 it may be more of a problem . See what you can do with it

I have a 4.3 litr v6 and feel like it has trouble getting gas sometimes although the fuel injectors look like they're working just fine

Have you replaced the fuel filter? Suggest you check the running fuel pressure and also check the fuel pressure regulator function.

Car died in front of house, would crank, but not start...fuel pump has been buzzing for a while so i assumed it went out, replaced pump & filter, sadly cant get it to start. checked all fuses, relays...

No pressure at fuel rail either mean a clog in the fuel lines or filter...or a failed or incorrectly installed pump. If you have voltage at the pump when you are cranking the engine over recheck pump and fuel filter. also try applying shop are to the fuel lines when disconnecting at pump and fuel rail to clear any clogs.

Ive had my fuel pump replaced. Now, after driving for 10 minutes, the engine loses power and stepping on the gas makes it worse. Tech hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and noticed engine fuel pressure is...

if power fine and no fluctuation than the pump itself is problem or problem with filter new doesnt mean cant be faulty also listen to pump if hum goes high /low than pump is surging and is faulty if pump stays steady and pressure test is steady when teted before fuel filter than problem with filter or line

Replace fuel pump-stil no start

Was it empty when you parked it? (i.e. did someone drain the tank, and put sugar in it? something like that?) If not... the fuel filter could be clogged. Check that. Most cars of this age are fuel injected, so the fuel at the fuel filter will be under high pressure. Chiltons manuals usually discuss how to de-pressurize the line if needed. But you probably already dealt with this changing the fuel pump. Good to hear it's turning over. After (finding) the filter... check to see if any fuel is making it through the filter. Turn the ignition to "on" and it will likely start the fuel pump and spray fuel everywhere (if you disconnect the filter output.).... besides having a mess, you will know your fuel pump works. (Try attaching a hose from the fuel filter output to a bucket to prevent a mess and possible fire please ). Can you hear the fuel pump running? Could be a blown fuse for the fuel pump.
