open up the key case and the battery size is printed on the case. There are too many different size batteries used to be accurate

If you got Diesel engine you must use a 70 to 80 AmpH battery.
If you got a gasoline engine a normal 60 Amp/Hr bettery can be use.
Hoe that settles that!

GO TO ANY AUTO PARTS PLACE TELL THEM YEAR MODEL TYPE OF CAR.WHAT ENGINE SIZE AND TYPE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM.THEY WILL LOOK UP WHAT BATTERY SIZE YOU NEED.

your cars battery might only need charging or battery acid replacement, but if you'd realy wish to buy new one, buy one with the same size and voltage and amps as the one you have right now, or you could buy a battery with the same voltage with a higher amppere-hour (Ah) rating!

Dependant on engine size and fuel type, any size from a 390 amp battery, if it is diesel then a 590 amp battery. No special tools needed, only a small ring spanner. Make sure yyou disconnect the earth lead first. Also you will need to enter the radio code after changing batteries

Size 75 was the standard battery many of the newer size 75's are actually stronger than the old 78's, so you can probably get away with a 75 which is a little smaller and lighter. 

Your Jeep Grand Cherokee uses a group 34 type battery. The sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but, the standard size is 10 1/4 " x 6 13/16" x 7 7/8" or 260mm x 173mm x 200mm. No, not unless the alternator is very small and you have a large battery that is well down in charge. The ideal alternator to battery size is 25%. This means that if the battery is 100 amp hour in size it should have at least a 25amp alternator. The problem only really arises in an RV or boat where a large house battery bank has been installed but the alternator size has not been addressed to cope. The damage done would be caused by an alternator working too hard and over heating.
