I have an 04 Mountaineer so I am not 100% sure yours will be located in the same place. Mine is located behind the C support trim panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. Open the passenger rear door. The trim panel where the seatbelt is located for the rear seat (Top) carefully pull panel away from vehicle. There should be a small black module located under where the seat belt mounts. With a flash light look on the white sticker on this module. There will be a 5 digit number which will be the factory code for the door.

Get the VIN# from the vehicle, either on a plate under the hood or on the front of the windshield down low. Once you have the VIN# which is (VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER) contact mercury and they can give you all codes for the vehicle.

I have an 02 mercury mountaineer that I bought at a used car lot. no one knows the code and I've locked my keys in it. How do I unlock my car if I dont have the lock code?

its not something i would put up on the web as any one would be able to unlock any vehicle. all will say is boot.....and replace after. also you can have your remote read to get the code from it from most key cutting shops for a small price.

2002 mercury mountaineer had a grinding noise when i backed up and turned the wheel to the right, I took it to the ford dealer and they said my transfer case, tie rod on one side and my brakes and bearings...

I would take it back and tell them you just spent 3k and they didn't fix it. And you dont feel it should cost you anymore for them to fix it. If it is making a noise how can they say there is nothing wrong? Could be as simple as a brake backing plate rubbing the brake rotor. It may have got bent slightly when they replaced the bearings and other parts.

2002 mercury mountaineer on e window not working

All the windows are on the same fuse, if the other windows are working fine, it's not a fuse issue. I susppect the motor or the window regulator.
With your ear close to the door panel, press the window switch up and down, if you hear the motor and grinding noises then the window regulator needs to be replaced, if you don't hear anything then the motor is bad OR no power is getting to the motor. either way you will have to take the door panel off and to fix.

Just bought a 2002 Mountaineer w/keyless entry. The problem is no one at the dealer knows the code. How can I reset it?

In the 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, especially with the 3rd row seat, remove the trim panels at the rear of the back door and at the tailgate on the passenger side. You will see two panels where the wall seat belt is located, remove the top panel first and then pull the lower panel out. Then pull the lower trim panel forward CAREFULLY. Towards the front (near the door opening) you will see a small black box (says Security Unit) On it in fairly small print will be the 5 digit code.
[ONE set of FIVE numbers and that is your CODE number.]

Stop by a dealer. Give them your Vin# and they should give you the factory code.
Then stroll into the service bay, like you own the place, get a tech off on the side, to write down, how you progam your own code, into the keyless entry pad
