The thermostat is under the car on the backside of the engine. there will be a metal pipe attached to the lower radiator hose. Follow that pipe to the back of the car. It is bolted to the water pump housing. The thermostat is in between the water pump housing and the metal pipe.

Where is the thermostat on 2.4L '97 Grand Am SE. Chilton's description is very unclear-no illustration.

follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. Thats where it is very hard to get to, and replace. You will need to remove some brackets and be flexable. good luck

I dont no where the t-stat is located on a 2001

The thermostat is located under a small housing, on the engine, and the upper radiator hose attaches to it. To gain access, on a cool engine, drain your coolant, then remove the upper radiator hose, then unbolt the thermostat housing, and remove the thermostat. To install, clean all mating surfaces, and install a new thermostat with a new gasket. Reconnect the upper radiator hose, and fill the engine back up with coolant.

Where is the thermostat located on a 2001 grand am v 6

Follow the top radiator hose to where it's attached to the engine. The thermostat sits under the housing that the hose is attached to. Remove the housing (no need to remove the hose) and you'll be able to replace the thermostat and its gasket.

Can't find thermostat

fallow the upper radiator hose to the engine that is the thermostat housing. If I remember that one is not real fun to do. I think a shop would charge about 1.5 hours to do it.
