P1600 - 2004 Honda Civic

hi i wish i knew if the car had more codes or if it runs good with this code you should be having some other problems because this the main battery supply to the ecm and the memory retention voltage sourse for the computer that is fed by a fuse in the fuse box so i would check all of my ground wires and check to see if any wire is damage or threding

The P1600 code is usually a IMA fault, and the P1449 code is a battery deviation fault.
Both are usually early warning of some sort of hybrid battery issues.
You need to have a system tech give the hybrid system a good look over, but most likely your IMA battery pack is most likely suspect

P1600 IMA system malfunction. A P1600 code is a generic code that is set in the engine computer to tell you that there is a Hybrid system problem. In order to find out what is wrong with the Hybrid system, you will need to take the vehicle to a Honda dealer so that they can read the code in that system.
P1449 Battery module,battery module deterioration, battery module overheating, battery cell overheating. Either way you need to take the car to a Honda dealership to find out the actual cause of the P1600 and replace teh battery module

Type: Lexus OBD P1600

The P1600 is a generic OBD II code. It just means that a more specific code (Honda) has been set. To find the specific code you have to take it to the dealer or have a Vetronics Mastertech scan tool to get the actual code. The P1433 indicates thats the the main battery contactor or the by-pass contactor is staying active when it should not. Using an Actron pocket code reader will only read generic OBD II codes. P1600-This Relates to Powertrain Control Module Battery Backup Circuit.It will only reset if it is either an intermittent fault or has been repaired.This module and wiring will need inspecting,testing and possible replacement to enable resetting the flash code.I hope this helps,or get back with your findings based upon this info and we can move towards a positive repair solution.

the P1600 is loss of the computer keep alive memory circuit, this could be a loose connector or connector pin at the computer, or the computer may have an internal fault, check these items first before anything else.
