1993 mercury capri heater will only blow cold air

11_13_2012_2_23_32_am.jpg

The linkage under the dash sometimes breaks, the picture shows the most common part that breaks. You can see this from the drivers side, its a back breaker to get in there to see it, trust me!!! You'll have to find a junkyard Capri to get this part if its broke, OR... Look at the picture near the 'A'. That plastic arm is supposed to move like that double-ended arrow line shows. That is what does not move to give you heat when the part breaks. In a pinch, you can tie a string to the part, and run the sring where you can get to it from inside teh car. Just a tug, and you've got heat, until you can find the broken part. Good luck...Chris

I put 20/50 oil in is that ok. Also don't know where to put brake fluid And my front tires are making noise when I turn left.

20w-50 is alright if you are somewhere that is very hot, all the time-I'd go easy on the petal when it is warming up though, the oil pressure will be enough to encourage oil leaks.

Brake fluid goes into the master cylinder which is located directly in front of the driver, inside the engine compartment. It is up high, pretty much above mostly every thing else, just forward the firewall.

If your tires are making noise turning in one direction, it is usually low tire pressure on that side.

Need to relpace lug nuts, what is needed to remove the hub?

Huge, really ugly job, because this is one of the worst design flaws I've ever seen... and I'm assuming we're talking about the front wheels. Get this. You have to separate the hub from the steering knuckle using a hub puller designed specifically for the Capri (it's in the Ford tools catalog). Then once you've replaced the lug (and/or the brake rotor and/or the wheel bearings and/or the wheel seals - because all of those require the same proceedure too) the hub needs to then be pressed back into the steering knuckle using a hydralic (or similar) press... which no doubt would consist of also pulling the knuckle to achieve). Impressed? Yes, so was I.

Loud humming noise from front end of Durango 4 x 4

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.
