Our 2001 toyota forerunner has a vibration on acceleration. It is a roaring noise at 50-60 mph. at 70 it seems to smooth out and not as bad. some vibration below 50 mph but not as bad as described above. could you please give us some idea of what could be wrong? we bought it used. has new tires and shocks. looks great and no other problem.

Hello, it's most likely a bad front wheel bearing or an out of balance driveshaft, worn u-joints, if the vibration shakes the whole truck have the driveshaft looked at for bad u-joints

SOURCE: vibration

Is the vibration all around the car ......or steering wheel.....or any other particular part?......If it is all around then I am more inclined to believe that it has something to do with spark plugs and or wires....check them out and replace as needed...Another thing that it could be is your air filter ...it may need to be cleaned or replaced. It could also be that you have warped rotors....they will cause vibration while driving ....but problem is most apparent when braking.

SOURCE: 1998 camry front tire bounces at 60 mph

Had the same problem. It turned out to be a rim out of round. Had to replace rims. OR could be loose lug nuts or improper lug nuts for aftermarket rims.

Could be bad unbalanced tires. If the noise changes when you turn/change lanes, then it is likely a wheel bearing.

Bring in the car to a PROFESSIONAL shop. Mention your problem & ask about a wheel balance, alignment & make your problem clear before any work is done. Mention bearings etc. Ive dealt w millions of csrs at my own private shop & that would be your best approach. NO JIFFY LUBE TYPE SHOP

S2000 vibration when decelerating

Clutch would show different ugly symptoms - it is definately a warped/warn rotor and/or brake pads from high speed deceleration or "riding the brakes".

Fairly easy to fix, probably 2-3 hours of work for each corner

Subaru vibration

I had similar problem with my '99 outback. Replaced the front half shafts and seemed much better. A few months later seemed to be comming back so replaced the driver side shaft again and the problem disappeared. I had put in rebuilt shafts and the driver side shaft was not rebuilt correctly.
