For a V6 altima easiest way is to remove the radiator. Altenator is on the front of the engine at the bottom. With the radiator out of the way can fit it out. Ususal atuff for the altenator. Disconnect the battery. Loosen the belt to remove it. The unplug connector and the 12mm bolt for the output. Then unbolt altenator to remove. Will not be able to fit it out without removing radiator

Remove radiator and fan assemblies for easier access. Disconnect battery, disconnect wiring from alternator, remove belt and two bolts ,upper and lower that hold alternator. Wiggle and pry alternator free. Be careful not to bump into a/c condenser.
Its located in the IPDM box....remove the cover and you ll see a side with 4 relays close to the fuses and the other side 3line of relays, the relay in the middle is your fuel pump relay......hold the ipdm in position the fuses in the box upside....
The alternator is right on top of the 2.5L motor and held on by 2 14mm bolts. To remove the lower bolt (hard to reach), you must remove the coolant bottle and the IPDM fuse board and its metal box/bracket. A breaker bar really helped give enough torque to loosen the 2 bolts. Approach the drive belt from under the front passenger tire. There is a tension adjuster (hard to reach) bolt that loosens the belt and allows you to remove it from the alternator. If the belt is still good, (don't remove entirely) save time and try to keep the belt in a similar position. I am not an experienced mechanic and job took me about 3 hours & $200 for the alternator.
YOU NEED A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL.BECAUSE ALTIMA HAD A 2.5 AND 3.5 ENGINE.YOU NEED MANUAL BECAUSE IT WILL TELL YOU WHAT COMPONENTS YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE TO GET THE ALTERNATOR OFF.
