Is there a known problem causing reduced battery life?

No. Electrical draws can be anything at any time. The more common things that I run into in general are aftermarket radios, dvd players, and accessory lights that stay on. Those would be glove box lights, vanity mirrors, under-hood lights, and trunk lights.

If you battery keeps goind dead than the first thing you need to check for is a draw. This is very easy to do with an amp meter or a low amp probe. With a meter you will hook it up in series with either of the battery cables. One lead to the battery one lead to the cable end. with a low amp probe you will keep the battery connected and clamp the probe around the cable. Ideally you will want to see less than .050 amps and more realistically less that .025 amps. If its more than that than you have a draw. You can start by removing the fuses one at a time until you find the source of the draw. Than figure out what devices that fuse controls and narrow it down even further.

If there is no draw and the alternator is putting out 14 volts than I would be suspicious of the battery. It is not common but a battery can develop an internal draw. I see one about once a year that has this. The way to confirm this would be to disconnect the battery and leave for the time frame that it takes to go dead. Reinstall the battery cables and see if the car starts. If it doesn't than the battery.
