The trunk latch is operated by a solenoid which it requires power to operate. since the batery is flat then it won't work. I'm not sure where the positive terminal is under the hood but you can connect the positive lead to the alternator wire terminal, and the negative lead can be connected any where on the engine.
Good luck......
You don't. If your battey is running low than run your car. A 2009 should not have a battery that is running low on charge. If the battery is not being charged by the charging system than bring the car back to the dealer from which you purchased it.
I am seeing this problem a lot on this board. I had same problem. Change the TCU unit under the passenger side floor board (pull up carpet and you will see it, easy to change). Got a used one from a junk yard--lot cheaper.
what car do you have?? is it a newer one were the battery is in the boot..?? well its easy if thats the case alls uhave to do is open the hood and charge it that way either jump start or use a spare batery...(connect ground to positive!)
IF CAR DONT CRANK CAN BE THAT BATERY IS EMPTY, STARTER OR IGNITION SWITCH. IF ALARM SISTEM IS ORIGINAL TRY THIS: CLOSE ALL DORS AND HOOD, TRUNK AND LOCK AND UNLOCK PASENGER DOR WITH KEY. THIS RESET THE ALARM (IF BATERY IS DISCONECTED) MARKO
have u tested the ac compressor cycling switch located in the low side line from the compressor? also a common failure is the AC compressor cycling relay also known as the WOT (wide open throttle) relay Jumper a wire across the AC cycling switch in the low side line, if the compressor runs replace the switch, if not then replace the relay which in in the power distribution box under the hood.
If this just started to fault after battery replace, I would suspect a vacuum hose or outside air temp sensor got unhooked or damaged under the hood. A scanner could help diagnose issue if nothing obvious is found to have been disturbed under the hood during batery replace.Good luck!
check the resistor block; this resistor block controls the ground side of the fan motor, some caddys used a digtal display and on those the power relay also control power if was normaly found under the hood next to the wiper module some were under the dash.
