Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6003525-abs_traction_control_lights . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info. In your case, also look over the ABS system itself, as they may have bumped it during the engine installation. If you can't find the ABS system, please get back to me with model and year info.

Sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor. You need to have it scanned. Since it's been sitting, it might just be a bad connection to one of the speed sensors.

Lvan....Have you had the codes pulled for the ABS failure? I would not be supprised if you have a wheel speed sensor failure.
Check with your local Auto Zone or other after market part store, they will pull codes for you for free in most cases.
Let me know.

You can check out what the trouble code is by pushing and holding the information button and the up arrow (right side of instrument cluster above the radio) until all the instrument clusters light. Press the information button (last) to enter test mode. I've had an error C1234, meaning Left rear wheel sensor fault. I found the problem to be a corroded connector under the chasis just under the rear left door about 2 feet in. I had to by-pass (replace 1 wire due to corrosion at the connector.

This is normal for your anti-lock brakes to quit when the abs light is on.What you will need to do is retrieve the codes and then you can find out what part of the abs system is giving you the problem. This will also cause the check engine light to come on.You can post back and I can help you with the code or codes that are in the brake control module.Hope this helps.

The ABS sensor is a speed sensor also for Traction Control. This is why both lights are on , One of your front ABS sensors are bad or disconnected, or has a pinched wire.
