I got a 95 civic ex with the d16z6. My cluster will work part way. The back lights come on and that's about it. None of the gauges like the tach or speedometer or file will work when I start the car. My hazard lights will blink on the car and in the cluster but the turn signals won't. Any ideas?

SOURCE: gauges don't work on 2004 Honda Civic EX

it sounds to me that the instrument cluster has gone bad. not for certain because I cannot see it but if you have a mechanic tell you that it is a very strong possibility.

You need to check the connections between the battery and the car. Check both the positive and negative ends where they meet the car and attach to the battery.

My tachometer does not work.

Look on the back when you have it out, are the 1 or 2 little "burnt" spots? Get some solder, flux and a solder iron, and put a tiny bit of each on the burnt spot(s).

98 civic lx where is ignition coil?? ++

IT'S A BLUE WIRE ON THE BACK OF THE CONNECTOR THAT WOULD NORMALLY GO TO THE FACTORY TACHOMETER IN THE DASH. YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE DASH GAUGE CLUSTER TO GET AT THE CONNECTOR. THE CONNECTOR WILL NOT BE PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FACTORY TACHOMETER (DX, CX, HX ETC...YOU WILL HAVE TO SPLICE INTO OR CUT THE BLUE WIRE FROM THE PLUG. IT GOES TO TACH SIGNAL WIRE ON YOUR NEW TACH.
