My vents on my 2003 Ford F150 will not work on the AC. Cool air still comes out when the AC is set to Floor. AC sounds like air is going somewhere, but will not come out of vents. What could be the problem?
My F150 Lariat Super Cab is having A/C problems. When on Max output the AC blows through the vent as is suppose to. After about 2 min, you can hear the change coming, and air sounds like it is blowing louder but sounds as if it is blowing into the dash and not out the vent.

There is a vent opening linkage for the top vents if you had removed panel for sterio install this linkage might have come loose or the wiren to electric relay to open top vents came loose
also vent doors on front of a/c vents are turned to the closed position
also quite possible the passenger blower motor compartment door in side the blower mode has something blocking entrance
also your truck might be equiped with a blower motor filter i read that these need to be changed out during normal filter replacements the filters for ford i didnt know they started using filters for a/c on reading this since 2000

Sounds like your heater coolant hose door flap is broken or loose. May want to check behind the heater controls, if your components are mechanically operated. If electronically, may need to perform more troubleshooting before replacing this component.
Almost sounds like the actuators are inop. depending on which style you have, some are electrical motors and some are vacuum. These control the mode doors which move to deflect air to various vents.
You did not mention if the system you have is electronic(digital control) or manual(control knobs) but what your problem is, is a vacuum leak. Defrost and heat or the default postions for no vacuum. If it works ok until you press max air Then you will need to check the outside blend door vacuum motor. It will be the white vacuum line going from the control head.
Your vehicle has the R-134 system. These systems usually don't have a charge site glass window. Just because the compressor turns doesn't mean the system is full. You need to hook up the hi and lo side of the system to evaluate the systems operation. Too much R134 will adversely affect the performance of the system producing warm air. You could have a bad expansion valve contributing to the systems malfunction. You can find the problem by hooking system to a set of manifold gages.
SOUNDS AS THOUGH YOU HAVE A BLEND DOOR STUCK CLOSED IN YOU HEATER / AC SYSTEM SOMEWHERE. CHECK THE VACUUM MOTORS THAT OPERATE YOUR BLEND DOORS ON THE SYSTEM.
