With jeep running foot on brack putting in drive i get viberation it dosent happen all the time some times at a stop light . i can put it in nutrel and it well stop ? can you help

Hi,becouse you have just set the timing that seems the place to start,I would recheck,if after rechecking it still happens,what I would do is buy one of the sparkplug lights that gose in between the sparkplug and ht-lead then if it stops again you can see if its a electrical problem or fuel problem,if it is electricle problem then and no spark at points check coil isant bracking down.

If there is a problem with the brake lights the shift interlock will not release the shifter out of park, Until you can fix your lights you can get it out or park by turning the key on(engine not running) shift into nutrel then start the engine, put in drive and away you go.

Sounds like an automatic transmission problem, specific the clutch. Either a rebuild or a new one. Check the fluid level and smell it to see if there is a strong odor. The collar should be cherry red. If it's brown, it's cooked.

The GMC I had you stopped, put the gear selector in Neutral, selected 4x4, put the gear selector in reverse and backed up a little then moved it to drive. Same procedure to go back to 2 wheel drive.

if your car stalls or trys to lerch forward when stoping at a light or stop sigh, then your over drive is loked meaning you need to have your transmition serviced or the electrical to the lockup solinoide needs to be checked

I have the exact same problem, however reversed. My whistling sound stops when I accelerate and starts when my foot is off the accelerator. Frustrates me and am afraid to have it looked at for fear of the cost of fixing this problem. Have you since discovered what the problem is or was?

Put the key in the ignition and turn it on and off (3) times without starting the jeep, leaving it in the on position count the (1) flashing indicator Light, Eg: (5) flashes, Then there will be a pause, then it may flash (3) times, this is a code #53. Keep your Eye on them and write them down. If you should miss (1) Repeat as many times as needed, Info: A #55 means there are no codes!!

it could be a vacuum leak try and get a vacuum gauge and see if it reads like it suppose to

Sounds like a vacuum leak, i would check that first

i recommend cleaning the throttle plates. they are located unter the intake hose form the engine to the air filter housing. if you open them with the engine not runniong you will see they will be covered in carbon. use a good carb cleaner and a rag to wipe them clean
