First you have to narrow the troubleshooting area excluding things that are O.K.
Do you have a park. If yes then concentrate at fuel system.
If you are not getting any fuel to engine keep in mind the Saturn does not have an inertia safety fuel shut off switch, which is the start trouble shooting point, at Fords or other vehicles.
The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank, and will operate with ignition ON and engine running or cranking. With the ignition ON but not cranking the pump relay is energized for 2 - 3 seconds and will disabled if the PCM does not see reference pulses from the crank position sensor. To re-initialize the pump, the ignition must be turned OFF for at least 10 seconds. This will help you to trouble shoot the fuel pump. Hope this will help.
You should check to make sure its getting fuel there will be a pressure switch around the intake of the car it will look like a valve stem on a car tire if its gettin fuel the you should check to see if its firing
